Summer School in Industrial Engineering for Advanced Automotive

The MUNER Summer School in Industrial Engineering for Advanced Automotive aims to improve the training of future engineers, mainly coming from all the curricula activated in the Master’s Degree in Advanced Automotive Engineering, Advanced Automotive Electronic Engineering and Electric Vehicle Engineering.

The main objective is to provide students with specialised knowledge in the mechanical, automotive and production fields, tailored to the needs of the thriving automotive industry, which is particularly present in the Emilia-Romagna region.

Through well-established collaborations with industry-leading companies, the School focuses on several key areas, such as the efficiency of production processes, digitization and process control, the development and management of efficient production processes, the management and control of big data, the application of the Industry 4.0 paradigm, and the Design, development, testing and control of innovative propulsion systems and vehicles.

Offer:

Two weeks of classroom lectures, company visits, networking and many activities

Target:

The program is open and recommended to students enrolled in Advanced Automotive Engineering, Advanced Automotive Electronic Engineering, Electronic Engineering for Intelligent Vehicles and Electric Vehicle Engineering.

In general, the program is open to all students of Industrial Engineering and Information Technology who have a B2 level of English.

Duration:

Dates for the 2025 edition to be confirmed.

Location:

University Residential Centre of Bertinoro (CEUB, Via Frangipane 6, Bertinoro – FC), which will provide students with board and lodging.

Activities:

The classroom teaching is delivered in English and aims to enhance the learning experience of future engineers. This proposal is designed to prepare and specialize high-level professionals in mechanical, automotive and production fields dedicated to the industrial automotive sector, which is particularly prominent in the Emilia Romagna region.

Selection Criteria:
  • first cycle degree and/or second / single cycle degree obtained under D.M. 270/04 or first cycle degree and/or second / single cycle degree obtained under the laws previously in force (DM 509/99 and Old Regulations) in the following fields or classes: Industrial and Electronic Engineering;
  • first cycle degree and/or second / single cycle degree obtained abroad deemed equivalent to those described in point above by the admission committee, for the purposes of admission to the course;
  • to compete for the 30 free-of-charge positions, it is necessary to be enrolled in one of the following Master’s degree programs: Advanced Automotive Engineering (all curricula), Advanced Automotive Electronic Engineering, Electric Vehicle Engineering, and Electronic Engineering for Intelligent Vehicles (all curricula).
  • for non-EU citizens, they must provide evidence demonstrating their legal residence in Italy as of the deadline of the call.

Admission to the Summer School is subject to a positive opinion based on the evaluation of the qualifications obtained (including CV) and on the interview with the Admission board.

 

Important Remarks:

Typically, thirty reduced-fee positions are available, which are generally assigned to candidates deemed meritorious based on their ranking in the selection process and who, at the deadline of the call, are enrolled in one of the following master’s degree programs active within the MUNER project: Advanced Automotive Engineering (all curricula), Advanced Automotive Electronic Engineering, Electric Vehicle Engineering, Electronic Engineering for Intelligent Vehicles (all curricula). If these reduced-fee positions are not allocated to the aforementioned students, they may be made available to students enrolled in master’s degree programs in Engineering at the University of Bologna.

Fee:

2,000.00 Euros if they are not awarded a reduced fee position or 17.04 Euros if they are recipients of a reduced fee position.

Food, lodging and company visits are covered by the school.
