Language Certification Requirements
All applicants are required to have appropriate knowledge of the English language, at least level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference.
In order to be admitted to the MUNER Master’s programs, all applicants must demonstrate an adequate knowledge of the English language, at least at the level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Below are the specific requirements for each Master’s program:
Advanced Automotive Engineering
Candidates must provide one of the following documents to prove their English language proficiency:
- A valid B2 level certificate, as listed here.
- Successfully passed university examinations in English that provide for B2 level, documented by a certificate from the home university;
- English as native language (foreign or Italian citizens who are fluent in English due to family or language experience are considered native speakers).
- A Bachelor’s degree taught in English.
UNIMORE’s Language Centre offers a B2 English test for prospective students who wish to enroll in a Master’s Degree Course taught in English. More details are available here.
Electronic Engineering for Intelligent Vehicles
Candidates are required to possess an English language certification equivalent to at least B2 level. The following certificates are accepted:
- TOEFL (computer-based: no lower than 213 points; paper-based: no lower than 550 points; internet-based: no lower than 70 points; Special iBT home edition: no lower than 70 points)
- IELTS (overall score no lower than 5.5)
- First Certificate of English (FCE)
- Certificate of Advanced English (CAE)
- Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
- ISE-II/III/IV Trinity College London
- B2 Certificate or self-certification issued by an Italian University Language Centre.
- A university degree fully delivered in English with a minimum length of 2 academic years (120 ECTS) from one of the following countries: European Union, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland.
Electric Vehicle Engineering
Candidates are required to possess an English language certification equivalent to at least B2 level. The following certificates are accepted:
- TOEFL – computer-based – no lower than 213 points;
- TOEFL – paper- based – no lower than 550 points;
- TOEFL – internet-based– no lower than 70 points;
- TOEFL – internet-based Special Home Edition – no lower than 70 points;
- IELTS – no lower than 5.5 points;
- IELTS indicator (test online) – no lower than 5.5 points;
- First Certificate of English (FCE);
- Certificate of Advanced English (CAE);
- Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE);
- ISE-II/III/IV Trinity College London;
- B2 Certificate/Self-certification released by an Italian University Language Center (idoneità di inglese B2)
- High School’s International Baccalaureate on whichs English B or English A – Language and literature appear. For both sujects the minimum score required is 5.
- Having obtained a university degree fully delivered English with a minimum length of 2 academic years (120 ECTS) in one of the following countries:
- Any Member State of the European Union or any Member State of the European Economic Area;
- The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; Switzerland;
- The United States of America; Canada;
- Australia; New Zealand.
English as a medium of instruction (MOI) should be clearly written down on the transcript of academic records.
