Gianni Nicoletto, MUNER Professor and pioneer in mechanical engineering education and research, passes away at the age of 64

Professor Gianni Nicoletto, a distinguished figure in the field of mechanical engineering and machine design, died unexpectedly on 9 February. He was Full Professor of Mechanical Design and Engineering at the Department of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Parma.

Professor Nicoletto was also a founding member and leading advocate of MUNER, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and innovation in engineering education and research. He was a cornerstone of the academic community at the University of Parma, dedicating his talents and passion to the institution from 1991 until his recent retirement in October.

His profound impact extended beyond the lecture theatre, as students, colleagues and all who had the privilege of knowing him recall his dedication, expertise and deep humanity.
