Formula SAE Italy 2024: Excellence and innovation from the teams of Motor Valley!

The Riccardo Paletti Circuit in Varano de’ Melegari hosted the final race of the 2024 Formula SAE season, with remarkable success for the teams from Emilia Romagna.

Representing MUNER’s partner universities, UniBo Motorsport from the University of Bologna and MoRe Modena Racing Hybrid (MMR_Hybrid) from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia excelled in their categories.

UniBo Motorsport’s electric vehicle, Athena (E188), finished the competition in 8th place overall after passing all the technical tests and excelling in the static and dynamic events. Their hybrid prototype, Genesiachieved an outstanding victory in the Concept Class, taking 1st place in the Business Plan and Design event and 2nd place in the Cost event.

We are incredibly happy with the results we have achieved, the sum of months of sacrifice and constant dedication. The hard work throughout the season has been well rewarded with this summer’s successes. Competing against the most competitive electric teams in the world, we proudly stood out and received recognition from the industry’s top companies for our innovative powertrain. In addition, our significant victory in the ‘Concept Class’ with the hybrid project is an important milestone. It not only rewards the work done so far, but also lays a strong foundation for the future, allowing us to move forward with confidence towards the physical prototype that will compete next season

Riccardo lutti, team leader of unibo motorsport, shared his pride

On the MoRe Modena Racing Hybrid side, the team achieved 1st place in the Combustion Class, marking another triumph for the region’s excellence in motorsport engineering.

“This season has been the most successful one in all the team’s history. These results come from the hard work that every team member has put into the project not only from the beginning of this year, but also from all the previous ones, facing a lot of problems and overcoming all of them thanks to a great teamwork. Speaking of myself, I am very glad to have chosen this path for this year, because it allowed me to see the tremendous growth that there has been in each and every one of my teammates, something that for me has a very big value.
Most of all, we are really proud of the fact that we were able to excel in almost every discipline, and we’re already working on improving what we have done wrong, because our aim is first of all to always be the best of ourselves. We are really looking forward to the next season and to all the new teams and challenges that will come with it”

the Team Leader Beatrice Terzo proudly commented
